U organizaciji Sveučilišta Burch održao se 3. međunarodni simpozij o održivom razvoju od 31. 05. do 01. 06. 2012. u Sarajevu. Održivi razvoj je okvir za oblikovanje politika i strategija kontinuiranog gospodarskog i socijalnog napretka, bez štete za okoliš i prirodne izvore bitne za ljudske djelatnosti u budućnosti. Cilj simpozja je okupljanje predstavnika istraživača, proizvođača i politike koji će imati mogućnost razmjenjivati najnovije rezultate istraživanja i planova za buduću primjenu. Namjera simpozija je približavanje međunarodne i regionalne zajednice i poticanje za zajedničkim rješenjima u području održivog razvoja.
